Among these awards were a gold medal for their Late Harvest Zinfandel, silver medals for the 2005 Chardonnay and 1996 Brut Reserve, with bronze medals for their 2005 Sangiovese, 2004 Merlot, 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon and NV Blanc de Noirs. |

Founded in 1993, Witch Creek Winery is located in Carlsbad. The winery is named for Witch Creek which runs near a vineyard east of Ramona in San Diego County. Rock Canyon Vineyards started as a breeding ranch for Spanish Andalusian horses in 2000. That same year, my wife and I started experimenting with home wine making.
We planted our first vineyard of Zinfandel grapes in 2002. Over the years we have added Cabernet Sauvignon and soon will plant additional varieties.
